Washoe County Credit Union Holds Free College Planning Workshop

Great Basin Federal Credit Union (GBFCU) will prepare Reno families for paying for college with a complimentary college financial planning workshop on April 21, 2016. The college planning workshop is part of a monthly Financial Solutions Seminar Series. The monthly seminar series is one of many ways that GBFCU engages with members of the Reno and Sparks communities to promote financial education and empowerment. The seminar will be hosted by Steve Lindquist, a Registered Representative, Licensed Insurance Agent and Financial Consultant with Great Basin Federal Credit Union’s Financial Services Department. Reno families can receive financial consultations through experts like Steve Lindquist because Great Basin FCU provides no-cost and no-obligation access to financial experts. Topics in the college financial planning workshop will cover savings strategies for families, including the 529 college savings plan, which is a tax plan that allows families to save up funds for tuition or and other college costs. The workshop will also help families gain a better understanding of what college costs they will face in the upcoming years. The college financial planning workshop will be held at Great Basin FCU’s Main Branch at 9770 S. Virginia St. from 5:30-7:30 PM on April 21, 2016.
