SMi’s Meter Asset Management conference, taking place on 20-21 June 2016 in London, will feature key players from all elements of the EU mandated smart meter programme, where developments will be shared in order to facilitate a smooth roll-out. The two-day programme will feature case studies provided by an array of UK and European utilities discussing the progress of their smart meter roll out programmes including Stedin, EDF Energy, EDP Distribuição, Co-operative Energy, Ovo Energy, Thames Water and HERA. In order to achieve the very ambitious 20-20-20 target, member states need to consolidate efforts to drive transformation of Europe’s utility networks to become ‘smarter’. Utility companies across Europe face the prospect of meeting the EU’s goal of installing smart meters for a minimum of 80% of consumers by 2020. While utility companies and their customers have already seen significant benefits from smart meters, roll out programmes need to accelerate and challenges have to be overcome. Against this backdrop, SMi’s 3rd annual Meter Asset Management conference, taking place on 20-21 June 2016 in London, will offer a comprehensive analysis of the advantages of smart meters, including case studies from the utility companies themselves. The two-day event will dissect the obstacles involved in installing and managing smart meters, and will provide the ideal platform to engage with peers and industry leaders to discuss the best strategies to meet the 20-20-20 target.
