Checkpoint Systems' DC Solutions Help Retailers Boost Revenue, Performance

Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CKP), a leading global supplier of merchandise availability solutions for the retail industry, today announced two new distribution center (DC) solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to be more productive and improve shipping accuracy: RFID Box Tunnel and RFID Hanging Garment Tunnel. The DC solutions enable retailers to increase revenue and performance by verifying items within each bulk shipment are accurate. Any errors can be instantly identified and triaged before the shipment leaves DCs, allowing DCs to make necessary corrections and avoid added cost and time. Valid shipments generate automatic advanced shipping notification and are sent for delivery. Once received at the intended retail location, using a simple RFID handheld scanner or RFID reader, associates can instantly and accurately verify shipments and ensure authenticity as boxes are unloaded from the delivery vehicle. These latest hardware solutions are available in multiple sizes to accommodate standard conveyor systems and require minimal modifications. The tunnels are constructed of durable, fabricated metal, and are insulated for sound and RF shielding to eliminate both noise and stray RFID tag reads. They mount directly to the manufacturing floor to ensure stability. According to Uwe Sydon, Senior Vice President of Innovation & Technology, Checkpoint, "Retailers and manufacturers today increasingly understand the benefits of RFID, and the significance of tagging at source for the full source-to-shopper experience and revenue benefits throughout the supply chain. With our two new DC solutions, retailers can rest assured that manufacturers and distribution centers are getting it right from the start." Beyond inventory accuracy, implementing RFID at the source improves ever increasing demands of omni-channel fulfillment, and offers loss prevention and customer satisfaction benefits. When implemented, RFID improves shipment accuracy and authenticity, reduces workloads, increases throughput at store operations and reduces costly vendor chargebacks. RFID Box Tunnel The RFID Box Tunnel was designed for totes, cartons and boxes in any DC environment and does not impact existing production performance. It is offered in two sizes to accommodate most standard conveyor systems. This tunnel offers a read capacity of 200 items per box, at a maximum conveyor speed of 240 feet per minute, and a minimum distance of three feet between boxes at a tested 99.9 percent read accuracy, when combined with the OATFoundation Suite(TM). RFID Hanging Garment Tunnel The RFID Hanging Garment Tunnel was designed for hanging goods and, like the RFID Box version, works in any DC environment, doesn't impact production performance and is offered in two sizes. This tunnel offers a read capacity of 450 items per bundle at a speed of 90 feet per minute, and a minimum distance of two feet between bundles at a tested 99.9 percent read accuracy, when combined with OATFoundation Suite. Both solutions can be purchased standalone or in combination with Checkpoint's OATFoundation Suite to further optimize performance through its sophisticated software algorithms and hardware tuning, which provide unsurpassed performance rates, regardless of label type or orientation. Checkpoint also offers a full line of complementary RFID tags and inlays that can be pre-encoded to customer specifications, and a full line of RFID solutions to ensure operational efficiency from source to shopper. Checkpoint has already installed more than 100 RFID Tunnels to date in several large European retailers including C&A. Both RFID Tunnels are available immediately. About Checkpoint Systems, Inc.
