Cincinnati Bengals Star Returns Home for 7th Annual Michael Johnson Youth Football

NFL standout Michael Johnson will host 300 kids during his annual sports and enrichment weekend Five-star NFL defensive end Michael Johnson, #90 of the Cincinnati Bengals announces his 7th Annual Michael Johnson Youth Football and Cheer Camp Weekend which will serve hundreds of boys and girls ages 8-17, in the proud native’s historic hometown of Selma, Alabama at Wallace Community College on April 15th and at Memorial Stadium on April 16th. While Johnson undoubtedly shines on the field, behind the scenes he has a huge soft spot in his heart for aspiring youth. From funding a computer laboratory at Martin Middle School in Selma, Alabama, to sponsoring nearly 50 Dallas County kids on a chartered bus trip to Tampa Bay when he was with the Bucs for one season, he never hesitates to demonstrate his philanthropic heart. Johnson has championed a diverse array of programs rolled out through his MJ93 Fund and supports the University of Cincinnati’s Gen-1 Theme House, Sunny Delight’s Binit2Winit initiative and the American Dairy Association where he lent his support to promote the benefits of healthy diets incorporating dairy products. He has been a frequent NFL team ambassador of Fuel Up to Play 60; a popular program that emphasizes healthy eating and daily 60 minutes of physical activity a day for kids and was also appointed Honorary Lieutenant Governor of the State of Alabama by Lieutenant Governor Kay Ivey of the State of Alabama. Hands down Johnson is as committed to excelling on the field and driving his team to victory as he is focused on improving the lives and vision of young people and offers the following motivation; “You don't get to pick the situation that you were born into, your environment… none of that. But, what you DO get to pick is the effort that you put into each and every day. You never know who may come along that can help you. I had so many people that came before me to help pave the way, so now it's up to me to make that path even wider.” Michael’s MJ93 Fund is laying the groundwork for a brighter future and providing tools, resources and access through college fairs and sports camps such as this highly anticipated annual event that draws upon the hands on mentorship and instruction from the stellar athletes and his professional athlete teammates and sports professionals. The deadline for 300 kids is April 15, 2016. Early registration is encouraged at www.mj93.org.
